Premature Ejaculation (PE)
premature ejaculation (PE) is the most common male sexual dysfunction affecting men and their partners. However, available data suggest that only 1-12% of males self-reporting receive treatment for their dysfunction. According to The Journal of Sexual Medicine editor Irwin Goldstein, most physicians do not inquire about the existence of premature ejaculation (PE) when the patient has other sexual complaints or when the partner has orgasmic dysfunction. As seen in this study, premature ejaculation (PE) adversely affects sexual satisfaction, and partner distress is a common motivation for afflicted men to seek treatment for premature ejaculation (PE).
premature ejaculation (PE) is when a man ejaculates (or comes) sooner than he or his partner wishes. It occurs most commonly either during or very soon after penetration, but just thinking about a sexually stimulating situation can trigger premature ejaculation (PE) and sometimes it happens even before any direct stimulation of the penis occurs.
premature ejaculation (PE) is one of the most common sexual problems affecting men. It can occur at any age and under any situation, but it is most commonly a younger man's problem especially in the teens and twenties. In many ways, it is more related to the novelty of the sexual experience (new partner or different situation) than to the man’s age, although most men will experience it at some time. It only becomes a problem when one or other partner gets upset about it. It is very common and more than 40% of men are affected.
premature ejaculation (PE) is the most common sexual dysfunction in men younger than 40 years. premature ejaculation (PE) can occur at virtually any age in an adult man's life. As a reported condition, it is most common in younger men (aged 18-30) but may also occur in conjunction with secondary impotence in men aged 45-65 years.
Also a common reason for premature ejaculation (PE) is relationship disorders. Some of the components of relationship distress are: sexually demanding partners, unrealistic expectations, different needs and desires in a couple, dissatisfaction, lack of communication and trust, outside affairs, a partner who also has a sexual problem and an excessive desire to please a partner.
Some have questioned whether premature ejaculation (PE) is purely psychological. A number of investigators have found differences in nerve conduction/latency times and hormonal differences in men who experience premature ejaculation (PE) compared with individuals who do not. The theory is that some men have hyperexcitability or over sensitivity of their genitalia, thus preventing down-regulation of their sympathetic pathways and delay of orgasm to avoid premature ejaculation (PE).
premature ejaculation (PE) is uncontrolled ejaculation either before or shortly after sexual penetration, with minimal sexual stimulation and before the person wishes. It may result in an unsatisfactory sexual experience for both partners. This can increase the anxiety that may contribute to the problem. Premature ejaculation is one of the most common forms of male sexual dysfunction and has probably affected every man at some point in his life.
